Cooking on the  Bay invites you to join our exciting new Culinary Odyssey – Provocco, journeying into France.

Provocco is an optional addition to our Morocco Beyond the Bay or you may book it as a stand-alone five days bespoke gourmet escapade.

Last year The House of Fusion culinary riad in Marrakech, Morocco, joined Cooking on the Bay, Melbourne, to bring you Morocco Beyond the Bay, a selection of fabulous six, twelve or fifteen day foodie culinary Moroccan adventures.  Now we have added  Provence.

Experience the wonders of these two completely different cultural, gastronomic, historical and geographic destinations with the local knowledge of our exceptional hosts, Edwina in Morocco and Karen in Provence.

Provocco takes you for five sensational nights to the Provençal village of Saint-Rémy-de-Provence, and into the home of Australian, Karen Stride. There, Karen pampers you with breakfasts and treats you to Provençal gourmet delights. You can relax in the cool garden, read on the terrace, and swim in the pool.

Each day Karen drives you along tree-lined lanes through the scenic countryside for each day’s gastronomic adventure.

A highlight is the Master Class cooking class and market tour with one of Avignon’s top Chefs, and a wine pairing by Master Sommelier in his stone cavern set in the hillside amongst famous the vineyards.

Karen shares with you her local ‘foodie’ knowledge and takes you to outdoor food markets; there you choose regional delicacies to enjoy for your picnic lunch. One evening, you dine in a tiny family run village restaurant. Another day has you enjoying lunch in a typical Provençal ‘mas’, a country farmhouse. At the farmhouse the food is prepared using the produce from their vegetable garden, plus the local market, with lunch accompanied by their organic wines made from the grapes in their vineyard.

An olive oil tasting in a local Moulin, teaches you to savour a variety of Provençal olive oils; a nearby Chateau vigneron takes you through his vineyard and treats you to a wine tasting of their Chateau wines.

One morning, you wander through one of the regions’ sought-after brocantes, a raer treat for most travellers. There you will find antique linen, bric-a-brac, jewellery, books and various culinary treasures. After the shopping ‘spree’, a casual lunch on freshly shucked oysters and prawns, is washed down with a bottle of wine or two. Plus there is still time for you to explore the wonderful walled city of Avignon.
Provocco escapades are available in April, May, June, September and October.
