Mediterranean special peppers

As always, we have had some great classes over the past few weeks with 3 Mediterranean – Touch of Spice and 3 French Odyssey – Journey through France.

The Mediterranean – Touch of Spice classes featured a variety of tapas dishes, tagines and braises. And our special peppers.

I was delighted to have these fabulous peppers sourced from Richard Mohans, from Conondale in the Sunshine Coast hinterland. We cooked them quickly in oil with salt, lemon and garlic, tossing in some feta to serve. They were delicious, some are hot, spicy and some mild and others very hot, just like Russian roulette, you are not sure what each one will be like! They will be a regular addition to the menu in this class.

He has eleven varieites available, including the famous Piementos de Padrone. In our classes we had the Stavros from Greece, Friarelli de Napoli and Guindilla from the Basque region of Spain.
